ELODIA
CONCEPT WORK
Elodia is a concept project, where the client is a Spanish-inspired café located in Santa Barbara, CA.
The business/brand Elodia Café and Bakery was an idea I had that was inspired by my recent obsession of coffee shops and the branding that draws people to them. In order to truly design a brand that told a visual story, I began with a the brand’s “why” and “what.” From there, the vision came to life.
Meant to symbolize a modular system of tables set up, the motifs also act as seats for people to sit in when they gather. And finally, the motifs symbolize arms, or hugs, but really just a simple shape that represents people surrounding each other.
Experimenting with motifs that symbolized the act of socializing was a challenge that pushed me to illustrate. How can I illustrate something that morphs the concept of a table, socializing, and modernity all into one? Well, I created the submark logo to the right.
