This was a fun passion project for me because it allowed me to play around with motifs. I wanted to play around with the word chisme, or gossip so using quotation marks to symbolize the chatter was fun. It was important to me that the logo still had character, just like the original. I added a dainty heart at the top of the motif to maintain the warmth of the original version. Finally, using a warm color palette felt on brand for the coffee shop, as well as using line work to symbolize the steam from warm coffee just like the original. All in all, the redesign is not far off from the original, but it does provide a more refreshed and modern approach to the essence of Coffee and Chisme.
